Sennelier, the oldest Art supply store in Paris - the people who invented their own original colors. Here the third generation owner of the store talks about the entire Sennelier range and what makes each special.
I cant believe I have been to Paris twice but never thought of looking for an Art supply store. I am totally inspired to start painting again, so that one day I can get my hand at these, and make the most of their paints.
Incidentally, the first fine arts version of the ‘Oil pastel’ was invented in 1949 by Henri Sennelier at the insistence of Picasso, who was looking for a medium that could be used on any surface without having to do any coating or preparation. Sennelier made the original oil pastel which was waxy instead of powdery and hence smudge proof.
